Compare and Contrast Essay

The purpose of my paper will be to inform the reader on deciding which guitar best fits them. I will accomplish this by comparing and contrasting each one. I chose this topic as i enjoy playing both guitars and find them to be quite different from each other.

Analysis Essay Choice

In Judy Brady's article "I Want a Wife", Judy goes into detail of what having a wife is to her. The article describes the wife as somewhat of a disposable maid that caters to the spouse. As Judy describes "If, by chance, I find another person more suitable as a wife than the wife I already have, I want the liberty to replace my present wife with another one."(362) A description of a wife so selfness, its inhumane.

Christina Hoff Sommer's article "Men --- It's in Their Nature" talks about the resilience of violence, aggression, & spatial reasoning skills that boys naturally display as opposed to girls. The effort's of feminists and equal rights activists to create a sameness in the minds of males and females seems to be fruitless as Christina states "The natural differences between men and women suggest there will never be mathematical parity in all fields."(367)

I decided on using Christina's article as the idea of natural traits in boys interested very much. I'd like to look into it more and find out other traits that are opposite in boys and girls.

Favorite place

Beams of light hit me as i stare at the strong flowing water. Smells of evergreen pines and decomposing stumps make way to my nose while i rest comfortably over the water on a broken tree. If self awareness or nirvana were my goal, this would be my expanse id escape to. Tunes of Lucy and Rita stream through my ears creating an experience that can not be compared. Every few seconds through my peripheral vision, i spot a jumping fry's preparing for their long journey. As i leave, i let a final sigh of relief out knowing my return to this haven would be soon.

Destroyed

1. In Peter F. Martin's article "Destroyed", Peter discusses the use of performance enhancers in professional sports; But instead of criminalizing the players for their harmful indulgences, He states that the athletes are victims to the steroids and its often life taking properties that should be helped. Although the public eye sees the use of these drugs as harmful to the sport, more attention should be paid to the harmful and often life taking side effects given to the players.2. Paragraph #10 reminds its audience that although performance enhancers threaten the fairness of the competition, It more importantly plays a large threat to the athletes themselves who make the games happen in the first place. 3. "Athletes are as free as other people to make mistakes and suffer the consequences; in short, they are humans like the rest of us. Or at least they were before they started juicing."(1). I found the ending to this article interesting as the author finalizes with a statement that sounds rhetorical in its nature.
